Special projects
This page is about specific projects I did for different customers from restoration of retro furniture, collaboration with talented craftspeople to digging specific furniture for new places about to open.
"ORION" CHAIR
"Orion" armchair designed by Rastad og Rellingand produced by Hellands Lonestolfabrikk in the 50's.On this one, the woodwork has been sanded and oiled with a teak colored oil. The seat and the backrest have a new padding (foam) and have been upholstered with a Kvadrat fabric.​
GRANDPARENTS'S SHELVES
Special project because these shelves from the 1950s come from my grandparents. During our move to Norway, the shelves got damp and the veneer lost its color and peeled off.On these 3 shelves, I re-glued the veneer, made some wood inserts, sanded, re-stained and oiled the wood.The shelves have found (again) their place in our interior.
INGRID'S CHAIRS
Ingrid inherited these 8 chairs from her grandparents and she wanted to give them a new life.She gave me the new fabric and I had to consolidate the chairs by doing some wood inserts and flipots. Then I had to remove the old padding and fabric to put a new foam padding and upholstered the new fabric on the back rest and the seat.
ATOME (CLIMBING GYM)
Atome is a climbing gym in the city center of Annecy (France) opened everyday until 11:00 PM, you will also find the restaurant "Canailles Street Food" to take a break and regain strength.They ordered some pieces of furniture to fit out the chill out spaces of the gym and to reinforce their identity.
ATOME X CANAILLES STREET FOOD
"Canailles Street Food" is the restaurant linked to the "Atome" climbing gym.For the restaurant, I hunted the chairs, restored some tables and mounted the top for most of the tables.
CHAIR BED FROM "AS GENIAL LIABYGDA"
On this special piece, I upholstered the seat and backseat with this nice light pink corduroy. I stained the wood in brown, change the old nails by new dark gold nails and handmade both hooks on each side of the armchair to hold the seat.
TABLE WITH NEW EXTENSIONS
On this table, extensions were missing so I built 2 new extensions in black Valchromat with gold inserts and nails and oiled the table plus extensions.Valchromat is a ecological wood fibre panel similar to MDF but engineered for a high physical performance. It is 30% stronger than MDF and is the product of choice for architects, interior designers, kitchen designers and furniture makers and arts and crafts people.
PERSONAL PROJECT
On these chairs, I've consolidated all assemblies, upholstered the seat and the back with light heather gray boiled wool then oiled the wood work.
NORA'S CHAIRS
I glued the back of one chair, put some varnish and upholstered the 4 chairs and the bench with the fabric she gave me. Thank you Nora !
